Cold Laser Therapy at Acker Chiropractic

At Acker Chiropractic, we offer cold laser therapy, also known as photobiomodulation therapy, as part of our comprehensive approach to helping patients manage pain and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Cold laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light delivered directly to targeted areas of the body. The treatment is non-invasive and does not require needles or medication.Depending on the condition being treated, it may be used to help manage discomfort, reduce inflammation, and support healthy tissue function.

How Cold Laser Therapy Works

During treatment, our chiropractor applies the laser directly to the area being treated. The light is delivered through the skin to the underlying tissues, where it interacts with light-sensitive components within cells.

Our office uses a laser that operates at 830 nanometers (nm) and 90 mW. Treatment is typically comfortable, and patients generally feel little or no sensation during the procedure. The goal of photobiomodulation is to provide targeted light energy to the affected tissues as part of a broader approach to care. Research suggests that photobiomodulation may be helpful for certain types of pain and musculoskeletal conditions, although results can vary depending on the condition and individual patient.

A Complement to Your Chiropractic Care

Cold laser therapy is not intended to replace comprehensive chiropractic care. Instead, it can be incorporated into an individualized treatment plan when appropriate. Depending on your needs, your care may also include chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, stretching, strengthening exercises, spinal decompression, or other therapies. At Acker Chiropractic, we take the time to understand your condition and determine which combination of treatments may be appropriate for you. We’ll monitor your progress throughout your care and make adjustments to your treatment plan as needed.

Our goal is to help you feel more comfortable, move better, and get back to the activities you enjoy.
